Los Angeles Lakers icon Magic Johnson believes LeBron James’ son has the potential to be even better than the NBA MVP front-runner. LeBron Jr, known as Bronny, is currently playing for Sierra Canyon High School.
The 15-year-old phenom has caught the attention of America, with his team’s games frequently being broadcast live on ESPN.
Last week, he played against his father’s old high school – St. Vincent-St Mary Irish, and took home the MVP award after a brilliant display, in which he scored the game-winning bucket.
Bronny has been touted as a potential future NBA star, but is unlikely to enter into the league until 2023.
It has been claimed that Lakers star James wants to continue playing until he can play alongside his son, something the 34-year-old has been quiet on.
If he does stay around to play with his son, James will have been in the NBA for 20 years, an unprecedented feat.
In his 17 years in the NBA, James has been named the league MVP four times, and is currently the frontrunner to reclaim the crown again this year.
But Magic Johnson, who quit his position as Lakers’ general manager back in February in spectacular style, believes the 15-year-old can go on to be an even better player than ‘The King’.
“I think so,” he said when asked if Bronny can be better than LeBron Sr.
