Man Utd transfer news: Liverpool message with two players used as prime examples | Football | Sport

Former Chelsea star Frank Leboeuf has told Manchester United to follow in the footsteps of Liverpool by signing players who have a mix of experience and ability to impact the game on a regular basis. The Reds are enjoying a record-breaking season under Jurgen Klopp this season having dropped just two points through 20 games played.

Liverpool have been astute in the transfer market over the years to build a squad under Klopp which have since clinched the Champions League and become world champions.

Big-money signings such as Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Alisson and Fabinho have been a huge success while Klopp has also utilised more experienced players such as James Milner and Adrian.

United though have struggled to see similar impacts from spending vast amounts of money in the transfer market.

Players such as Nemanja Matic, Victor Lindelof and Fred have struggled to live up to their price tags while Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku have since left the club.
