Watched at Home: Top 20 Streaming Films for the Week of October 9

Welcome fellow couch potatoes to another edition of Watched at Home where we look back and judge your viewing choices over the last week! As it turns out, you guys are clearly itching for Halloween and helped propel four trick or treat classics into The Digital Entertainment Group’s Top 20. Let’s do this thing!

RELATED: October 13 Blu-ray, Digital and DVD Releases

Our last list saw Halloween favorites such as Hocus Pocus, Beetlejuice and The Nightmare Before Christmas enter the arena with the former leaping to No. 4 and the remaining pair occupying the No. 11 and No. 16 spots, respectively. This week, Hocus Pocus swooped all the way to No. 2 on the list (just behind three-week champ Ava) while Beetlejuice and Nightmare crept up to No. 8 and No. 14. Also, Michael Myers decided to join the fun via 2018’s Halloween, which made its debut at No. 19 on the list with plenty of time to eventually slice its way into the Top 10 by month’s end.

Meanwhile, new non-Halloween entries to the chart include Star Trek: Picard Season 1, the documentary The Phenomenon, the romantic comedy Then Came You, and the Kodi Smit-McPhee sci-fi thriller 2067. This is probably a good time to plug our recent interview with Smit-McPhee, who discussed his role in 2067 and even took some time to talk about his stint as Nightcrawler in the X-Men franchise.

Otherwise, the list remained largely unchanged from last week save for a few jumps here and there. It’ll be interesting to see which other Halloween classics you guys take part in over the next few weeks.
